Make sure you book a private double tent — not a shared or dormitory-style tent — and ask whether the bed is a real double rather than two singles pushed together. In comfort and luxury camps, private tents are the norm; in some authentic camps they are an option rather than the default.

Most camps serve dinner at shared tables, which is sociable. If you would prefer a table for two, ask when booking: some camps can set a separate table, and luxury camps are more likely to offer it.
