Two camps a few hundred metres apart in the same dunes can have very different prices. These are the factors that make the difference, roughly in order of impact.
Authentic, comfort and luxury camps are built and staffed differently. Luxury camps have more space per guest, more furniture and linen to maintain, and more staff, which is reflected in the price.
A shared or simple tent costs less than a private double, and larger family tents are priced differently again. Private tents are standard in comfort and luxury camps.
A private bathroom with a shower inside your tent is usually the single biggest step up in price. Water has to be delivered and heated in the middle of the dunes, so en-suite tents cost more to run.
Dinner and breakfast are included at most camps. Upgraded dinners, private tables or special requests can add to the cost.
